Step Two - Understanding Starter Packages and Pledging

If you're reading this, then you're probably interested in learning about what a Star Citizen starter pack is.

A starter pack for Star Citizen is essentially a collection of digital items that will help new players get started in the game. The contents of a starter pack can vary, but typically they will include things like a ship, ship insurance, some credits, and most importantly a digital key for the game itself.

Though not all do, so be sure it states "Star Citizen Digital Download" in the package description.

There are a few different ways to acquire a starter pack. One way is to simply purchase one from the game's official website. Another way is to receive one as a gift from another player.

A Star Citizen pledge is a monetary contribution towards the development of the game Star Citizen. Cloud Imperium Games are developing the game, and pledges can be made through their website. Pledges are not considered donations and do not entitle the pledger to any rewards or benefits.

It is quite simply your way of supporting game development.

Whichever way you acquire your starter pack, it's sure to give you a leg up in the massive and complex world of Star Citizen. So what are you waiting for? Go out there and explore!

Step Three - Watch Our Video On Player Movement Controls (5 Minute Watch)

If you're just getting started in Star Citizen, you may be wondering what all the controls do. This guide will help you get a handle on all the basic player controls so that you can start enjoying the game.

The mouse and keyboard is the most popular control scheme for Star Citizen. Standard FPS controls apply so if your are used to FPS games your be on your way in no time at all.

We recommend watching our video on YouTube for a video guide to getting moving as it details all the core controls.

Step Four - Watch Our Video On Space Flight Controls (12 Minute Watch)

If you're new to Star Citizen, the space flight controls can seem daunting.

But don't worry, this guide will help you get to grips with them quickly.

Take the time to watch this video, which will guide you through spawning your ship, basic movement, and traveling to your first destination.

Learning all of these different space flight controls can seem daunting at first, but don't worry - practice makes perfect! The best way to learn is by jumping into a game and trying things out for yourself. Once you've gotten the hang of the basics, you'll be zipping around the 'verse

Step Five - Earning Money In Game

With different jobs available in the verse you can take on anything you desire that is available in the game.

Option One - Missions:

One way is to take on missions from the various factions that you'll encounter. These can be anything from simple courier missions to more dangerous bounty-hunting jobs.

Option Two - Mining:

In the game, mining is the most involved career option, but if you don't wish to do missions, it offers a decent payout. The game has a large number of dedicated mining ships which you can use to mine. I don't recommend you buy one of those ships on your first day. Get used to the mechanics first. You can also rent ships for a daily fee and then use them for whatever tasks you need to accomplish.

You can rent a Cutlass Black, and a ROC from Refinery Stations (Eg: ARC L1/CRU L1) for 24 hours for under 40,000 AUEC, which is enough time to earn the repayment and more.

Option Three - Salvaging:

New to Alpha 3.18 is salvaging, which comes in 3 forms.

Hand salvaging using a Pyro RYT Multi-Tool and attachment. Solo salvaging in the new Vulture salvage starter ship. Or in the multi-crew variant "The Reclaimer". The Vulture currently requires a pledge to own it as it is a newly release ship and is not available in-game via in-game currency.

Each allows you to salvage debris from destroyed ships for salvage material to sell or use for repairing ships.

Option Four/Five/Six and up are all out there for you to find!

Be you a pirate, trader, or medic the verse is there for you to do as you desire!
